Calling all DC area members and friends of MRE!
Please join us for a very special evening with Ernie Pyle, one of the first
“embedded” journalists during World War II and daily columnist for Scripps-Howard
newspapers, as portrayed by local actor and retired Navy officer, Steve LaRocque.
Byline: Ernie Pyle is a one-man, one-hour show created by LaRocque, recounting the
major events of World War II in Pyle’s own words. The script consists entirely of
excerpts from Pyle’s reports from the front, used by permission of the Scripps-Howard
Foundation. His now-famous columns chronicled the day-to-day stories of American
citizens who became warriors at a time of urgent need, and their triumphs and sacrifices
that ultimately won the war.
