Join Military Reporters & Editors for a day of engaging discussions, networking and recognition of outstanding military journalism.
Military Reporters & Editors (MRE) will hold its 2026 annual conference on Friday, Nov. 13, at Northwestern University’s Medill Washington office, located at 1301 K Street NW, in Washington, D.C.
The daylong event will bring together military and national security journalists, editors, defense experts and other leading voices for a series of panel discussions and conversations about the most pressing issues facing the military and the journalists who cover it.
MRE will also recognize excellence in military journalism with the presentation of its annual awards, honoring outstanding reporting and storytelling across the profession.
Following the conference, attendees are invited to an on-site happy hour reception to connect with colleagues, speakers and fellow journalists.
MRE conference attendees are also welcome to join us at the annual Combat Correspondents Dinner at the National Press Club, offering another opportunity to continue conversations and catch up with colleagues. Dinner is an additional cost at $55 for a three-course meal paid on site.
