WASHINGTON, July 2, 2018–The Military Reporters & Editors president and board of directors have named Carlo Muñoz, military correspondent for the Washington Times, a new member of the MRE board.
“Munoz is a capable and energetic reporter who will bring new zeal and skills to our leadership team,” said MRE President John M. Donnelly.
Munoz has been with the Washington Times since 2016. Previously, he was a foreign correspondent with Stars and Stripes’ Mideast bureau. Based in Kabul, Afghanistan, he covered American and allied military operations in Southwest Asia and the Persian Gulf region.
Munoz also has field experience covering U.S. and foreign military operations in the United States, South America, Cuba and the Asia-Pacific region.
He has also served as national security correspondent at The Hill and Deputy Editor At AOL Defense/Breaking Defense. His work has appeared in The Guardian, United Press International, Atlantic Media, Air Force Magazine, USNI News and elsewhere.
Munoz is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University.
