MRE contest seeks Best of 2007

Print, photo, broadcast and online categories vie for honors and cash award

It’s time for the best reporting on the military, national security and veterans affairs during 2007 to be highlighted.

Military Reporters and Editors announces it 2008 Journalism Awards for coverage of military, national security and veterans affairs in print, photography, broadcasting and online media.

The fourth annual contest will be headlined again by the Joseph Galloway Award for Distinguished Journalism, which will offer a $500 award for the best-of-show entry from category winners. The award has been generously sponsored by McClatchy News.

The contest covers work done in 2007. Deadline for entries is March 31, 2008. Entry forms are available for download below.

Winners will be announced in August 2008.

This year, current members of MRE will get a free entry. Second entries will be $25.The non-member entry fee is $75, which includes MRE annual membership. A second entry will be $25.

This will be the second year MRE has included television and online categories.
